"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

Proverbs 22:6

OUR MISSION

Lambs of Our Savior Christian Preschool will provide each child with the opportunity to learn about the love we have all received from God. We will provide each child a beneficial preschool experience while working together with families to provide a Christian atmosphere both at preschool and at home. Lambs of Our Savior is an integral part of the ministry of Our Savior Lutheran Church. The preschool was developed as a service to the community and as an outreach of God’s love.

Lambs of Our Savior Christian Preschool is a participant in the state of Michigan’s Quality Rating Improvement System /Great Start to Quality. This rating system rates programs in 5 categories: staff qualifications/experience; family and community engagement; administration and management; learning environment and curriculum and instruction. We have gone through a self-evaluation and multiple visits to assess the quality of our program. Ratings are posted upon program validation on the Great Start to Quality Website www.greatstarttoquality.org. We want to provide the best quality early childhood education and care for each and every child, which is why we participate in this program.

Teacher Assistant: Rebecca Chandler

My name is Rebecca Chandler. I am 43 years old, the mother of three children, and an active member of my community through volunteerism. I have been a stay at home mother and homeschooled my youngest two children for the past few years. Over the last year I have worked as a substitute for Lambs of Our Savior as well as being the Interim Drama Club Advisor at Manchester High School. For the past four years I have fit and cared for the Band and Choir uniforms at Manchester High School as a volunteer and booster. I am familiar with Lambs of Our Savior’s philosophies and believe that learning through active play is very important to young children. I always enjoy the time that I get to spend with the little lambs and have fun when I am with them.

OUR PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY

At Lambs of Our Savior Christian Preschool, we believe that children learn best through actively exploring materials and active participation. We believe that children should be provided with opportunities to explore the world around them. We believe that a quality Early Childhood program embraces a holistic approach to education including the child, the family, the community and God. Our program is based in faith based learning. We strive to help children and families learn about God and his love for us all.

OUR ADMISSIONS POLICY

Lambs of Our Savior Christian Preschool admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to or made available to students of the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, or any other school administered policies. We accept children of all faiths.

OUR AGE GUIDELINES & REQUIREMENTS

Children must be at least 2½ (30 months) to attend our program. Students are personally responsible for their own toilet care with minimum supervision. Speak with the director if you have questions or concerns.

OUR PROGRAM OPTIONS

The preschool is open 8:30-11:30, Mon & Wed, 8:30- 2:30 Tue & Thur. September thru May

We close when the majority of the public school districts that we serve are closed. We close for 2 weeks over Christmas, a week for Spring break and the Monday after Easter. Specific dates for any additional closures are provided by the director at enrollment. The classes are multi-age classes of children 2½ - 5 years of age. We have a maximum group size of 16. We have a variety of attendance options. They are as follows:

  • 2, ½ day classes (Mon/Wed or Tue/Thur mornings 8:30-11:30) – This is our option for children who are 2½ - 3 years old.
  • 2, full day (Tue/Thur 8:30 – 2:30) – This option is mostly filled by our 4 year olds who will be heading to full day kindergarten in the next year. 3 year old children who are interested in this option must discuss this with the director prior to acceptance into this option.
  • 2, ½ days and 2 full days (Mon/Wed 8:30 – 11:30 and Tue/Thur 8:30 – 2:30) - This option is offered as a transition into the full day program while still maintaining a daily attendance. There is a possibility of full days on Mondays and Wednesdays in the future. The main focus of the extended day is working specifically on kindergarten readiness skills
  • 4, ½ days (Mon/Tue/Wed/Thur 8:30 -11:30) - This is our 4 year old prekindergarten option. This option has been designed to help the prekindergarten child make a seamless transition into the daily school schedule that they will experience once they attend kindergarten.
